The Original Performance Fiber
Merino Wool
What is Merino Wool?
Merino wool is a natural protein fiber grown by Merino sheep. It is significantly finer and softer than regular wool, making it a premium choice for next-to-skin luxury.
The Problem
Traditional wool production can be linked to land degradation, deforestation from overgrazing, and unethical animal treatment (such as mulesing). Additionally, many consumers associate wool with "itching" or "overheating," leading to a preference for synthetic fleeces that shed microplastics
The Solution
Twelve:12 sources Merino Wool that prioritises animal welfare and land regeneration. By using a 320 GSM twill, we harness wool’s natural technical properties, thermoregulation and odour resistance—to create "Regent" outerwear that replaces the need for synthetic layers
The Benefits
- Thermoregulation: It creates a microclimate around the body, keeping you warm in the cold and cool in the heat.
- Self-Cleaning: The fiber’s scales prevent bacteria from sticking, meaning it requires less washing than cotton or synthetics.
- 100% Biodegradable: At the end of its life, Merino wool will completely decompose in soil within 12 months, returning nitrogen to the earth.
The Future
We are looking toward "Regenerative Wool" standards that ensure the grazing of the sheep actively improves the biodiversity of the grasslands, turning the supply chain into a restorative cycle.
